Anonymity

Your name is not the price of asking for help.

For many people, admitting that drinking has become a problem is difficult enough. Fear of being recognised should not become another barrier. Anonymity is therefore one of AA’s most important principles.

At a meeting

What is said here stays here.

Members respect the identity of the people they meet and what they hear shared there. Personal stories heard inside an AA meeting are not material for conversation outside it.

In public

The programme before the person.

AA members do not publicly identify other people as members of Alcoholics Anonymous. At the public level, the programme is more important than individual personalities.

Online

The same principle, digitally.

Your name stays yours. AA Rajasthan puts the message in front and keeps the member behind it out of view.

The message can be public. The member can remain anonymous.
